.:(—-):. It did not take the apprentice long to catch up to the source, hood pulled over his head, trying hard to blend in with white when all that he wore was intended for camouflage in forests of green. Eyes narrowed, he looked carefully over the being around the corner. It was her dragging the blood around? Acting so abnormal? But what was she?

→「血」The presence was definitely nearby at this point. The stench of blood still flooded her nose, dulling her senses and glazing over her thoughts. She glanced towards the side, her ears straining for the exact location of the other. Red optics flared, eyebrows furrowing. “Why don’t you come out now?”

.:(—-):. If anything was up, it had to be the scent of blood. Above all else, it was overwhelming and harsh. He’d likely be scolded and suffer later for what he was about to do, to follow after the trail without warning anyone of where or what he was doing, but if the novice was ever going to branch out on his own, he’d have to break away from the pack at some time.

→「血」Finally, the paths of blood her fingers had been tainting the concrete with came to an end. Her gaze shifting to the side, she became aware of one other thing at that moment —- another presence. It was neither near nor far, and she certainly did not have advanced instincts or anything of the sort so measuring the exact location was simply impossible for her. Eyes blinking slowly, she stopped in her tracks, head tilted upwards, listening carefully for movement in the silent city.

→「血」Fingers tracing against the concrete wall, she lets her pace slow, taking the time to feel each individual crystal of snow dig into her bare feet. Although the bite of the night cold left her entirely unfazed, the sting of the ice brought her back into reality with each step. A trail of blood following her fingers, she closes her eyes and wanders away from the body.

Oh, what a sight it had been.
